  1. Create your content

    • Make a reel, TikTok, or social post (video, meme, or carousel) that explains why reuse beats recycling and single-use plastics.

    • Focus on single-use plastic packaging for products where reuse makes sense (household and personal care products, some foods and beverages)

    • Keep it positive, student-friendly, and original. Aim for ~60 seconds max for video.

  2. Include required assets & info

    • Place the Refill, Not Landfill! logo on your post (use the provided logo).

    • Add a clear call to action that motivates viewers to act.

    • If you quote facts or stats, include links to reputable sources in the caption.

    • If not in English, add English subtitles.

  3. Post publicly to your account

    • Make sure the post/account is public so organisers can view and verify it.

    • Use only music/images/footage you own or have rights to (fair use allowed).

  4. Tag & hashtag

    • Tag REUSE Foundation on the platform you’re using:

      • Instagram: @reuse.foundation

      • TikTok: @reuse.foundation

      • LinkedIn: @reuse-foundation

      • Facebook: @reuse.foundation

    • Make sure to use these hashtags in the caption: #RefillNotLandfill, #ReuseFoundation

  5. Add your caption

    • Write a short caption saying what inspired you and what you aimed to achieve with the post.

    • Include your source URLs for any facts/statements.

  6. Submit during the official window

    • Only posts made within the campaign dates are eligible (20 November 2025 to 30 June 2026).

  7. Check your messages

    • Monitor your DMs / comments — organisers may contact you for verification or follow-up.

  8. Keep it honest & legal

    • Ensure your entry is original, you have consent from anyone featured, and all facts are backed by reputable sources.

    • Winners will be asked to prove student status/age before receiving prize money.

  • Seed your post with peers and groups to boost genuine engagement.

  • Save high-quality files and URLs — we may request them.

📜 Rules & Eligibility

​​✅ Who Can Enter

  • Open to all students and young people aged 16–25 worldwide.

  • Submissions must be created by the entrant(s) — individual or group entries welcome.

  • Multiple enteries permitted.

  • No professional agencies or companies. This is for students, by students (or young people!).

  • Entry is free. No purchase, payment, or donation is required.

🎥 What to Submit
  • A reel, TikTok, or social media post (video, meme, or carousel) that communicates:

    • How/Why plastic recycling is failing and why reuse is best.

    • Why we need to move away from single-use plastics.

    • A positive, creative message that inspires others to join.

  • Posts must include a clear Call To Action and ideally leave the viewer motivated to act.

  • Posts must include the Refill, Not Landfill! logo (shown below).

  • You may recolour the logo.

  • Posts must include links to reputable sources to reference any facts or statistics used.

  • Posts must include in the caption a short description of what inspired you and what you were hoping to acheive.

  • Submissions must be in English (or include English subtitles).

📏 Content Rules
  • Suggested maximum video length: 60 seconds.

  • Content must be original (no copyrighted music, footage, or images you don’t own or have rights to use). Fair use provisions are accepted.

  • Tone: positive, inspiring, and student-friendly (no offensive, discriminatory, or harmful content or fake or misleading information).

  • You must tag us:

    • @reuse.foundation (Instagram)

    • @reuse.foundation (TikTok)

    • @reuse.foundation (Facebook)

    • @reuse-foundation (LinkedIn)

  • And you must use the hashtags:

    • #RefillNotLandfill

    • #ReuseFoundation

  • If we contact you for follow-up, you must respond or you will be excluded from the competition.

  • Make sure your account or post is public so we can see your entry.

  • Optional: follow REUSE Foundation to see featured entries and updates.

  • Only posts submitted within the official campaign period (21 November 2025 to 30 June 2026) are eligible.

🏆 Prizes & Selection
  • At least £1,000 in total prize money will be awarded (REUSE Foundation has allocated a prize pool of £1,000 and expects it to increase with donations from donors and brands, up to a limit of £5,000).

  • Prize money will be split: 50% first place; 30% second and 20% third.

  • One person can be awarded more than one prize.

  • This is a skills-based competition. A judging panel will select winners based on:

    • Creativity & originality (40%)

    • Clarity of message (30%)

    • Potential for impact/engagement (30%)

  • The judging panel will consist of a representative each from:

    • REUSE Foundation​

    • A student group

    • A media expert

  • Winners will be announced on or before 30 July 2026 on REUSE Foundation's website and social media.

  • Winners must:

    • Provide proof of student status or eligible age to receive prize money

    • Confirm your entry is your original work and/or that you have permission to use any anyone featured or any content that isn't your own

    • Grant REUSE Foundation a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to repost, edit, and feature your entry (with credit) on our social media, website, and materials

 

⚖️ Legal & Permissions
  • By tagging @REUSE Foundation, you grant REUSE Foundation the right to share, repost, and feature your content (with credit to you).

  • All facts must be accurate and evidenced with a URL from a reputable source.

  • You must have permission from anyone featured in your video/photo.

  • Prize money will be awarded via bank transfer, PayPal, or equivalent.

  • Campaign organisers reserve the right to disqualify entries that break the rules.

  • REUSE Foundation reserves the right to not post submissions.

  • REUSE Foundation decisions are final.

  • Entry constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
